martin.pngMartin Yates - Contract Manager

I joined Olympian as a Security Officer before a rapid rise to Supervisor and then Security Manager of a team of officers within a large department store.   After three years in the role I progressed to Contract Manager where I gained valuable experience working with a range of different clients.  I have found that it is often the finer details which make the difference to our customers and staff and make them feel valued.  I deliver on promises made and always stick to deadlines, which is one of the fundamental cultural values that makes Olympian successful.  The people I work with are fantastic and I’m fortunate to have support at every level of the organisation.

I was destined to work in a people business, for me it’s both challenging and rewarding. While studying for my Mathematical Science degree at Birmingham University, I joined Olympian on a part time basis working as a security officer across the Midlands.  Once I’d achieved my degree I went full time, quickly becoming Supervisor of my own team at Ikea.  Before long I was given the opportunity to work in the control room at Olympian HQ.  With my mathematical brain I was a natural at juggling roster changes and overcoming the daily challenges they bring.  I now head up the control room team overseeing the entire UK operation, acting as the crucial link between our customers, staff and area managers.



nicola.pngNicola McGillicuddy - Business Support Manager

I joined Olympian back in 2010, initially to work with the vetting team based at Olympian head office.  However, with my natural desire and ability to learn quickly, I have been developed to undertake a wide variety of tasks and was promoted to Business Support Manager a year later.   I work with the entire head office team, and generally provide  support where it’s needed which fluctuates and changes all the time.  This gives me the variety and continual learning that I thrive on and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoy what I do.



alex.pngAlex Morvan - Human Resources Manager

I joined Olympian as a security officer back in 2002, having formerly worked as a Police Constable with the Staffordshire force.  Being keen for promotion, I managed to get an opportunity to work at Olympian head office. With my background and strong administration skills, I was offered the opportunity of heading up the vetting team, with the task of creating a more organised and efficient vetting and filing system to maintain compliance with BS7858.  Having a keen interest in HR, employee relations and employment law, I began a programme of continuous development and learning to fulfil my ambition of company HR Manager.  It’s a role I flourish in and enjoy the close involvement with our people across the organisation.  HR isn’t just about hiring and firing, its about getting the best from our workforce and ensuring they get the most out of their employment.  This is the part of my role I enjoy the most, particularly assisting newly promoted staff in developing into their new role and responsibilities, and helping them understand the part we all play in HR.


nick.pngNick Roberts - Security Manager, Russells Hall Hospital

After working as a Supervisor on a corporate site for some time, I was offered the challenge of managing my own security team in a hospital and jumped at the opportunity. Working at Russells Hall Hospital brings a lot of variety and no two days are ever the same.  Having never worked at hospitals before it was quite a challenge to get to grips with everything, including finding my way around the maze of corridors at the huge site.  Our duties vary, from creating access cards, monitoring CCTV, providing customer service, through to dealing with antisocial behaviour.  I have an excellent team and work hard to ensure that everyone is enthused and feels fully supported in their role and continuous development, just as my own line manager does for me.
